What do you prefer? Text for me hands down, I can answer when I want, change the subject easily, ignore the other party, have time to think about my responses, etc. What do you prefer and why?

I don't like either really. The wife is a texting fool. We'll be planning a trip or event with friends. She'll be texting for weeks. I'll ask her a question, she'll text and tell me response. I'll have another question, she'll text and respond to me again. It gets to the point that I have to call, 3 minutes later all my questions are answered.
    They both have their place.

I agree with most of what you said about texting.. But I like talking better, you learn more about the person!

Mostly talking.... But more and more, even in business, I have more people texting me then calling sometimes. I can kill my phone battery by noon most days....

Texting is definitely escalating, and becoming more common place...

Depends who it is, why I'm communicating with them and what I'm currently doing.
