Here is my 1980 TX-19 Youngblood Gullwing.
Purchased it last winter. Did almost a complete restore in 4 months, just in time to get on the water for Memorial weekend this year. Stripped it to freshen it up and rerigged everything but intake and suction housing. Wet sanded and buffed entire boat. Repainted entire trailer with new bungs and carpet. Had everything powder coated after rigging. Went with candy red with silver flake base and all other pieces black for a 2 tone look. Redid interior custom to fit the boat and its use as a family river cruiser. Setup as a nice all around river boat. Fun to go fast in and still water ski and tube behind it. Assembled pump and setup. Rewired everything at the back of the boat and for engine and routed for a nice clean look. Replumbed everything and routed for a clean look as well. A lot of late nights and weekends to get it all done.
Thanks to all my friends and family for all the help and guidance to get it all done.
Has a 460 Ford 60 over. All ARP hardware. Has aluminum heads, forged flat top pistons, victor intake, full MSD setup, with custom Armondo"s pan and High Flow Dynamics oil pump. Has a healthy solid flat tappet cam with custom one piece push rods, pro mag roller rockers and stud girdle. Running mid 80's with close to 500 HP.
Running a Berkeley pump with all the goodies. Has Aggressor Bronze B impeller with billet stuffer. PD long droop with diverter and FTN. Has back cut shoe and ride plate with race loader. Manual diverter with short handle V-Drive T-handle setup.
Had the scoop custom painted a black pearl, then had it custom stripped. I like how it changes colors depending on how the light is hitting it. Then had the boat custom lettered and decided to name the boat Night Rider.
This is my first Gullwing and I am very happy with how it came out and how it performs on the water. I will always be working on it to make it better just like all of us Hot Boaters.
I do most of my boating on the Colorado River. In Big River mostly but do venture up and down river on occasions. Also hit up the lakes in Phoenix when not staying at the river.
4th of July Fireworks at the Blue Water Casino below the dam on the Big River side. Great night run with family and friends.
A little accent lighting for the night runs in the Night Rider.
First run in new boat and first Gullwing to drive. Getting the feel for the new ride.
