None of you have known me very long, but I built the engine for the first Bernico in the US,, around 2000. I had also helped with communications to buy the boat from Nico Bertels. It ran at the 2001 World Water Ski Championships that were held in Parker and Lake Mead,, and Nico Bertels brought over his own boat for that race as well.
