I was listening to the radio yesterday and they were saying it must have been a personality conflict between Harbaugh, management and ownership....
He had too good off a record to just get fired like that.....$48mil is a nice chunk of change to coach a college team!

35 million with a 2 million signing bonus.

Michigan interim athletic director Jim Hackett confirmed that Harbaugh signed a seven-year deal worth $5 million per year -- the same salary he received with the Niners. Harbaugh also received a $2 million signing bonus, according to Hackett.

"Our guy came home," Hackett said.
