Speaking og Jock Jams...

Funny story...so a long time ago I was trying to serve papers on some cocksucker in the Baldwin Hills area of LA. So I arrived nice and early at dawn, took a spot on the street in front of the apartment building where Joe Coscksucker lived, and turned the Bearcat scanner on. Back then, people still used cordless phones...and you could listen to all the calls rolling across. You know, calls like "Hey, there's some white dude sitting out in a car in front of your house."

So one call popped on and I heard this dude talking half gangsta, half Rico Suave, talking about how he just got back from the airport. Then the guy was telling his chick how worried he became when there was a problem with his ticket and they called his name out over the loudspeaker in the terminal. "Montell Jordan" to the ticket booth please.

I was like, Who? I told the wife, she was like, Who? We laughed it off but a few months later, his one-hit wonder song hit pretty big, and we laughed even harder.

Yup, that's a good one too. So is the original by Lakeside...used to spin it (Lakeside version) at house parties back in the day. Was listening to tons of oldschool funk and disco, batin hip-hop just last night - giving the 11-year old some history lessons, lol.
