    Redskins lose Patent, just info

    now because the owner of the Washington Redskins wouldn't change their name the Patent office just took their Patent trade mark name away from any owners right so all their merchandize will be worth something some day.......

    I just heard this on the radio. The reporter said they can continue to use the name and sell merchandise, but that they won't be able to sue anyone for selling merchandise with their name or logo.

    This happened to the Redskins previously, but they went to court and won in the previous instance.

    They already appealed the decision this morning I heard. While under appeal they still have patent protection.

    Yup. Although the NFL licensing is some of the strictest in the world. Should be interesting to see what lawsuits happen from here......
