8 boats took the green flag to compete in The Skagerak Across which runs from Tvedestrand, Norway to Hirtshals, Denmark and back, with 3 retirements, 5 entrants completed the race.

Our tip as pre race favourite Going Lean, a 42' Fountain made the crossing to Hirtshals in under 48 minutes and led the field into Denmark.

Pål Sollie, in a new 38' Goldfish RIB powered by twin Ilmor engines was second with Copenhagen Racing making the trip across in an hour.

The run back to Tvedestrand was started at 11.00 am local time.

Dean Gibbs with co-driver Dave Brown led from green flag to chequered flag with Pål Sollie again the runner up.

The winning time of 1 hour 44 minutes and 8 seconds set by Going Lean was not enough to improve on the course record that was set last year by Asbjorn Abrahamsen and Jorn Tandberg who retired from the race
