Thought I might find some gel coat experts who off road race. We built this custom truck that we race in SCORE class 3 or class 8 (remove leafs and run rear coilovers for class 8).
It's a 1991 Bronco chassis that we fit a 1966 body on by widening and lengthening the body in several spots. It's an all steel body (except the hood and door inserts).
We would like to make a mold from the steel fenders and produce fiberglass fenders with the color already on them for racing.
Then we can use the steel body for car shows and such and use the fiberglass for racing.
Is it hard to make color gel coat fenders? Does the mold have to be any different than it would be for bare fiberglass?
