The story goes...The Dana Pride sees a pod of whales about 1.5 miles outside the harbor. The USS Coronado was heading right towards them. The captain of the Dana Pride positions the fishing boat between the war ship and the pod and hails the Naval captain to stop. Both vessels come to a halt and let the pod through. Pretty cool shot....

Nobody finds it odd that a tourist boat spotted a whale pod that the most sophisticated U.S. war ship never saw? That thing could spot a sardine cross its path.
