A friend sent me these pix of Parker and the surrounding area.

"Today we were invited to fly with Ted and Tom out for breakfast. We flew up over the Colorado, past the Parker Dam, then followed the Bill Williams river east to Alamo lake. Nice little place with a dirt landing strip. At the Wayside Inn, we had planned on breakfast. It's run by a couple and that morning the wife had decided to go to town. The husband was falling behind in orders, so after almost an hour of waiting and not having our order taken. We needed a new plan. The waiting was fine because of our conversation, but we were hungry. It was decided that we could fly to Lake Havasu. I thought to myself, that will take a long time, but at almost 100mph, we were soon there. Waldo's is where we ate a great breakfast with two other pilots. We then flew South over Lake Havasu and back to Parker. The contrast between the mountains, desert, river and the lake point out how colorful the desert can be. What a great way to spend the day."
