I paid $1.98 for premium at Chevron. But I received a discount to get that price. Safeway grocery stores have a rewards points deal that earn gas discounts at their gas station and Chevron. Think if you spend $150 in the store you get 20 cents per gallon off at the pumps. You don't have to spend that much in one shot and the discount builds as you spend per month. Max is $1 off. But you need to spend $1k per month for that.

Kroger Companies(Ralphs, Frys, Smiths, etc.) has a similar program, .10c off for each $100 spent. Pharmacy prescriptions= $50 each
I'll have to look and see if they have any Kroger stores in Bellingham/Lynden Washington. The Lynden Safeway is closer to my house even crossing the border, then the Canadian stores.
Anywhere in the U.S. beats what I would pay in Canada. At current exchange rates I would pay $4.14 per gallon VS $1.98 that's a huge savings.
