    The Commander Project!

So being boatless at the river last weekend really got me motivated to get the old boat going....

Boat is a 1995 19ft commander jet with a 454. Hoping to get some help from all of you with ideas and advise.

I am going to be doing this on a budget so that it will last me about 2 or 3 seasons before I upgrade.
As you can see I stripped out all the interior and most of the hardware.

    First order of business.....
Should I wet sand and polish keeping the same old school 1995 color or regel all white with grey trim???

Wet sand what you got. Not bad and keep it on the budget.

I would think wet sanding would be your best bet and would probably really make the boat look good. I think stripping and painting would cost quite a bit more.

I would prefer the white with gray trim but since I'm only planning on keeping it for a couple more years I may just wet sand. The guy from CL said he would come out look at the boat and tell me what each option would cost.

Also need all new interior and a couple swim steps.

I've seen some pretty amazing GEL restorations, if the guy knows what he is doing... You could always set up a test/sample before you go ALL IN, so you know your going to be pleased with his work...

Didn't you suggest I try and pull the fuel tanks out to clean them or do you think it is ok to leave them.
As you can see, they are kind of foamed in. I could always cut the foam out....
