					Internet Explorer on a Mac?

							Yes it is possible lol

Took me awhile to figure it out, but so far it seems to work great. I'm using Parallels and Windows 8.1 running in Windows 7 config.

Best of both worlds? Time will tell. So far I'm a happy camper

Chrome is the fave at our home on either MAC or Windows machines...

HOWEVER I still have to use I.E. for ALLLLLLL of my work apps/remote share sites/AT&T network sites so I just stick with I.E.

If you really want to have some fun in a safe environment, instal VirtualBox and then grab some Windows ISO images (Win 8, Win 7, Win 10) and import the appliances.

Super fast machines since they don't have any bloatware.

1. Download Oracle VM Virtualbox <install/launch>
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

2. Download Microsoft WIN7 32BIT with IE8 image (3.7GB zipped .OVH file)

http://dev.modern.ie/tools/vms/

3. Read section to "Import Appliance" (.OVH into VM)
http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch01.html
http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch01.html#ovf
"1.14. Importing and exporting virtual machines" (.OVF file)
**Set RAM to minimum of 1028MB**

4. Additional installs/updates <every time you CLONE the master, this step will be repeated>
Startup Windows>Run Windows Updates (several times to get all current updates critical and optional OS related)
Install Firefox and Chrome
Install MS Office and PDF viewer
Install analysis toolbox (SysInternals, etc)

5. FINAL STEP... Clone "Master Image" (FULL CLONE)
http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch01.html#clone

lol I was happy to get what I did working. I originally installed Windows 10, for some reason it had issues and I could not access the files in folders, so I ditched it for 8.1 Pro. So far everything works great. But we'll see what happens when I install some proprietary testing software I need for work. Its super finicky and I'm positive the OEM will just tell me to pound sand if it doesn't work

Those are Windows developer images, testing is what they are made for. If your parrallels install gives you grief, then try it in the virtual machine setting, there's a strong likelihood it will work. Those free ISO images are a fawking goldmine. Only good for 90 days, but if you clone a copy as instructed, they are supposed to last forever. I've never done it that way, I simply set up the machine, do what I need to do, then start over.

Good luck with it.
