You'll understand when you get older.........my kids are 36 & 40 and I still treat them the same, once a Mother or Father................always a Mother or Father.
That's funny my mother calls me the other day and ask what I want for Xmas. I tell her that I don't need anything and not to worry about it. Next she says how about I send you some money. No mom I have a couple bucks in my wallet.
Then two days later , my mother calls again and says it jus ain't right. Your my son and I need to get you something for Xmas. I tell her I am 48 and not a kid ( at least in age years ) so I am fine. She says so , your my son.
And of course my dad is probably jus sitting there thinking, Jesus Patti ( my mom) haven't we given that kid enough. Lol.
So I believe that parents are always parents no matter how old you ( the kid) become
Do you also have one of these at the house??? This is a google image but I'll post a pic of mine later.

Oh yeah, I would have to dig for mom's, can't say I've seen it since her passing(2008).
It was one of the few things she still had from her youth, so it was probably from the 30's or 40's. 100% hand made/carved.

The precision of it is amazing, little curls of wood that are still intact and the intricate details on the whole thing are simply bitchen.
