He's running a 1.75 gearcase, I think he could pick up 3-5 mph if he tried a 1.62

I was doing about 75 MPH right there............I didn't really have it trimmed as well as I could have as I had the plates down about 3/4 so still about 3-4 MPH with this set-up. I need to get to the rev limiter with this prop before I start thinking about a different gearcase but................at least I'll have something to look forward to
Good news is that I made it all the way from site 6 to Pirates and back on 14GA of gas, including running flat out probably 20 - 25% of the time

I'm thinking if you put a surface piercing prop and a lower unit with a low water pick up, you would gain 1000rpms at least. I prefer a torquemaster with a Bob's cone over a sportmaster. It's a faster set up, at least on my boat.
