Prop Repair

Question. I have a labbed 32 Merc prop with a pretty good cracked ear. First time this has ever happened to me. I know the ear can be weld repair, I'm kind of in the metal repair business. My question is, is it worth fixing only to have another ear crack? Has anyone ever had this done before with success? I have 2 brand new stock 32's, but need to get them labbed. Should I scrap the cracked 32?

the way I look at..get it repaired and use it as a EMERGENCY spare..something to get you home..have you tried a 34 yet? wondering how your boat would like it...

I agree with this. Sometimes losing a blade at speed can do more damage than just breaking a prop. I lost a blade at 110 mph.

I seriously thought the boat was going to come apart. It started violently shaking the wheel and boat but at least it when straight until we were able to stop. This was a twin engine boat. BTW the prop is now for sale in the parts section if you'd like to see it....or buy it.

Since I did the MEFI4 and intake, my 800 is now technically a 825. Problem is the water hasn't cooperated so I haven't been able to WOT the sucker. But I kinda doubt it could take such a big step. Maybe a cut down 34?

we have the same issue with water or the lack of it..we're waiting till a Havi trip (middle of the week) to go try props and open it up to see what it will run...
