Two years ago I called a customer and told them their largest customer filed BK. They are one of those retailers that was always on the verge. Six days later on the 7th they actually did file. I've been cautious of making those statements ever since.

Not a joke but a true story. I called a guy about some parts during his working hours, and got the receptionist there. When I was asked if they could tell him who's calling, I said "....tell him It's his wife's attorney...". After listening to Musak for way too long, he finally picked up the phone. Of course, the first thing I said was " hey Bob, this is Spike...". Oh man, was he relieved, and called me a few choice words. Unknown to me, he had just gotten married a month ago, so getting a call from his "wife's attorney" must have really made him freak. I hadn't planned to do this, I was just being a wise-acre, but my timing was right, even though It was actually on the 2nd ( forgot about April Fools , Easter covered that day).
