I wonder if it will happen this year now? This was a huge event for NorCal. Maybe he will chime in....I know he was a member here. Any racers on here that were planning on going?

Big Wake Weekend promoter arrested on fraud charges.

The promoter of a boating competition that was held on Folsom Lake last year was arrested this week on fraud charges.


Robert Richards, Jr., 54, who promoted last summer’s Big Wake Weekend, is accused of defrauding people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, Placer County sheriff’s officials said.


An investigation into Richards started when vendors of the Big Wake Weekend reported that they were never paid.


One man was owed nearly $200,000 and Richards paid him with checks that bounced, deputies said.


Richards was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his Folsom home and booked at the Placer County Jail on charges of defrauding by false pretenses and passing bad checks.

I hope it all works out. I just heard today that the water at CFW is to the top and going over the spillway.

It's starting to look like H1 Unlimited is pissed they didn't get all their money so they got the police involved. The H1 Unlimited group seems to be one of the shadiest sports out there not to mention it's super fucking boring to watch.

There are 2 sides to every story and the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Bob the promoter seems like a decent guy from the few times I have met him. The cost to get H1 Unlimited there and the cost to lease a state park were probably pretty high. Maybe whoever didn't get paid didn't do everything they were supposed to. The truth will come out and Bob is innocent until proven guilty. Oh, and Folsom isn't a shithole. LOL.

Key word Scott...STATE PARK.
The two or three times I've been to Folsom the state park Nazi fuckers totally turned me off. Way worse than any time I've been on Berryessa.
