Hey.......anyone out there got a 60 or 80-Gal compressor they aren't using??

Hey just thought I'd check and see if anyone has a 60-Gal vertical compressor hanging around that they aren't using anymore??

My garage was plumbed with high quality air lines (heavy gauge copper) by the previous owner and I'd like to retire my small 4-Gal Dewalt portable back to travel use and upgrade the garage to a larger unit. I have the perfect spot in the garage to put a supply and it has both dedicated 20A-120V as well as a 50A-240V outlets so I was hoping to find a nice unit that could handle at least 150 PSI.

So if anyone has one of these of has a line on something that sounds like it might fit this bill and isn't way pricey please let me know.

That's exactly the setup I have, plumbed with black pipe. Just remember to regulate pressure on tools that only like 90 psi, ask how I know? ;)

Thanks Sam, that looks Real nice but I'm trying not to spend that much on a compressor that I won't be using more than once or twice a week...........remember I'm a cheap bastard:nutswinger:

Yeah I hear you. It is one of the only compressors still made in the US.

Paul, I got mine out of box return bc someone didn't have 220 to run it. That's a long shot, but you might try Sears, Lowes, Home Depot after Christmas for returns. ;)

I have a Craftsman 60 gal. upright that went 7 years with just oil changes and belt adj.

Last summer I had to replace the head and valve body after it cracked.
I think I paid about $600 - $700 for it brand new on sale.

I use the shit out of it. 8 years now.
The Sears in Redding also has Ingersols in stock on occasion for not much more.

I would recommend a new one if you plan on making it a fixture in your garage, used ones are generally used up...

Mine is losing the lower end now I think, it gets HOT and never used to.

But still, 8 years is a good run IMO for that price.

I could replace the entire compressor unit for around $400 I think?

Yeah....I saw that but it's 30% more money, 20% less HP and only 135 PSI vs. 155 PSI........although I agree that IR is a good name. The breaker for me is that the IR is white and it will probably always show the dust in my garage :D

I'm not a real fan of the Sears Local shop here in Havasu.......never really liked these guys and Lowes has been awesome......I think I'd rather deal with them on warranty issues......especially with 3 years vs. 1 year on the Craftsman......but that's just me :D

Good points, I paid more 8 years ago than what it is going for on sale.
It wasn't my first choice either, but it's been damn good to me!

Sooooooooooooooooo............It looks like you need to buy a separate regulator for pressure out with these larger units.......does that sound right to you guys??

I was going to put in a water trap anyhow but just wondering??
