What A Sad, Sad Deal!!
This is my Cousins husbands Mom and Dad and I just got the email today, obviously his Dad is having a super hard time with it and since it is somewhat boating related I thought I would share.. RIP Carol
TAHOMA, Calif. — A 68-year-old woman died Thursday after her husband accidentally backed into her while trying to park a boat on Lake Tahoe’s West Shore.
Larry Kaufmann, 70, of Homewood, was driving a 2003 BMW and maneuvering the attached boat and trailer into a driveway at 475 Grouse Drive in Tahoma at about 1:30 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, his wife, Carol Kaufmann, was outside the vehicle giving verbal directions.
For unknown reasons, Larry Kaufmann lost control, and the rear of the BMW struck his wife, who was pinned against a permanently affixed “bear box” trash bin.
Carol Kaufmann suffered major blunt force trauma and died in the collision. Larry Kaufmann was not hurt.
Neither alcohol nor drugs contributed, according to CHP.

Had 2 of these types of accidents happen to friends at the river this year within 1 week, although not nearly as heartbreaking as the one you described. First one, the lady was run over by a jeep while standing between the trailer and jeep. Airlifted to Loma linda.
Second one, the guy was sitting on the tailgate as they were towing the boat back to the trailer and when the driver made a turn with his truck, my buddys leg got pinched between the tailgate and crank on the trailer. Snapped his leg in half below the knee. Both people are in rehab still after 4 months.
