I impound my property taxes so I don't see it as one bill. It is built into my house payment.
I haven't gotten the mail today and wasn't plannin on it. Now I'll have to go see if my evening is ruined!
Nope. Not there. So now my week is ruined since I know it's coming. Thanks!
I've successfully protested my assessments down substantially from what the County says it is. They send out the post cards and I file appeals with comparable sales to justify the lower amounts. In five out of six cases, the county agreed and lowered my assessed amount, my home included. I had to take one property to the second level of appeal (board of adjustments) and there I kicked the County's butt and lowered my assessment even more by presenting facts and comparable sales to prove my point at that level.
Who says you can't fight city hall???? :D
Just got ours in the mail yesterday, $2600. What can ya do.
Got ours last week, over 6k, I'll be out looking for aluminum cans this weekend.
Hey Doc, I appealed a few times and always got some relief. Problem is I get lazy and don't do it a couple of years and here I am complaining. :D
I would take any of the amounts shown in the thread:mad2::mad2::deadhorsejz2::deadhorsejz2:. Just sayin.
I could say that with my last house and the mello roos. 5 yrs ago I sold it and moved to the country. Life is much better.
Mine is in an impound account built into the payment as well. No mello roos here. My house is the one thing that we didn't go bigger and better with when times were good....been in the same house for 13 years and I was glad about that when the shit hit the fan. Now boats and cars that's a whole another story.
I was paying over $2000 a year property taxes on my boat. :yikes:
Got mine today. Now I can stop thinking about this thread.
