Yeah, he did start ranting about boating content, but that seems to be done now. But you're continuing to talk shit about his boat that he's obviously very passionate about. Not exactly. A 8" pan on a Chevy is a 10 qt pan. The oil level is just closer to the crank.

Its not just the pan. The B block is less than .200 taller than a standard BBC, but the RB is almost .500 taller than a CHEVY TRUCK!!!!! .400+ taller than a 460 Ford.
The RB is he tallest American V8. Only the 455 Olds come close, and its not dealing with a skirted block.
When you don't dry sump a RB, you're looking at one tall ass assembly to deal with and a crank a foot off the bottom of the boat.

That's not a rant. That is pointing out the obvious to a flatbottom person. And reminding OG how much he still needs to learn. Remember he is the person that jumped into about a half dozen non-boating threads ranting about a lack of boating content. Posted several things which turned out not to be true. Made some blatantly ignorant statements such as the one in my signature line, and the waits until the flat smart people mostly all call it a night, then jumps on and makes post after post trying to impress himself, as nobody else thought it was clever.

If he wants to learn he need only ask and almost everyone will try to help. You asked questions and look how many answers you've already received. I never claimed to be a flat bottom guru, but just like going to school, if you pay attention you learn the answers to the common questions. And if you want to learn this is a great place to do it.

And if you think that I was shit talking his boat, hide and watch how the internet works. He has a nice flat, which I stated. It just isn't the end all be all of flats. I like my boats too, but that doesn't mean I need to say how great they are every other post.

Thanks GN7. Didn't realize how much taller the RB block really is. Now I'm going to have to make sure the motor swap on the cruiser will still fit under the cover.

Hey SnoC, why don't you post some pictures of that Biesemeyer you have. It's been awhile since I have seen anything about it. Do you still work on it?

i did consider it but the cost involved would out weigh putting that much in that hull.. it'll be a good 90 mph i have it on gps at 92.6 at elsinore before ... so it will do 90 when its back in the water...i seriously thought of a new hull with a runner bottom try try or similar but none of my rigging will fit and oh well aim getting old and its not a race boat its just a dependable fun boat ...

I have been to a boat race or two in my days, and the wedge is NOT setting records, nor do I think it holds a single record it may have set DECADES ago.
In its hey day, it was a second rate engine to the 427 Ford FE and the RECORDS prove that out as well.
