How much for the 500? Rebuilding that 454 to make 500hp with that mfi setup may cost you a bit. I'd plan on some good heads and cam for sure. Then whatever EFI tuning or mods it'll need.

Without throwing out real numbers, I'm assuming the rebuild would cost a few less $ initially. The HP500 is built to get that HP from the get go. I say get the HP500 and run the piss out if it until IT needs to be rebuilt and then Whipple that girl. Well I am spending my friends money after all.Quote:

I would rebuild what u have. I am not a 500hp fan. If you do go with the hp motor do a valve job and make sure it is not running lean

Rebuild what you have. 500 hp is so easy and cheap to obtain these days it's sick.
Ive had a boat with a 500EFI, loved it. That boat just ran and ran. Never one issue with it, so I'm partial to blue :D
