A few more from today. The underwater houses were a little scary. I was paddling along and then all of a sudden...bam I was on top of one.

Is that a BOR lake?
I've read some books and stuff on the USBR back in the day. Bunch of property stealing bastards.
This is what I'm paddling over. The town of Mormon Island.

Aren't these levels normal for folsom? By spring it will be back up... no?? Isnt the lake a direct feeder for the farms up there?
It does get low in the winter but this is unusually low. It would take a really big winter snowfall/rainfall to fill it completely up., but it has happened before. When they originally built the dam in 1955 they expected it to take 5 years to fill. I guess they had a huge winter that year and it filled in 1 year. It's currently at 386'...when it drops to 360' it dead pools which means no water going out.....I hope the DLB likes salt water. ;)
