I got to drive on the autobahn when I was stationed in ramstine. Me and a buddy toke a train to frankfurt and we rented a porshe and hauled ass to berlin for a week. The original autobahn built by hitler is no more. Germanys entire hiway system is called the autobahn today. The only speed restrictions are in urban areas and construction zones. They have a "recommended" speed which is about 80. We got to berlin in like 4 hours and it should have been 5 1/2. Every bit of it was bad ass except for the signage. The international sign system and the multiple speed signs confused the shit out of me.Quote:
