I had Lasik in my left eye almost 10 years ago. As my left eye had better farsight than my right. This gave me mono vision that has worked quite well up until this year.
Now I find myself needing reading glasses for small print and in low light conditions. Just typing this on the computer in the office is no problem. Wendy losing your up close vision is just one of those things that happens. Welcome to your "mature" years :sorry:
That's actually common. I had Lasik also for near-sightedness 12 years ago and still have 20/20 vision as far as near-sightedness goes, I do have reading glasses. It was still worth every penny to me, I would do the same again. My eye Doctor said just buy the cheapo reading glasses if they work for you, don't spend a lot of money on them. I buy for a couple of bucks and have them all over the house, auto's, boat and garage. Not a big deal to me, you didn't waste your money.
First off...get the glasses on..put your hair up ...get the librarian look going..Will's going to love it..take a pic and post it....but now it answers another question I had...so when you were pouring our shots of Patron during Desert Storm..you were missing the shot glasses...I thought your vision was affected by Fireball...but it turns out your blind.....
This is a matter of aging, more than something related to your Lasik. As we age, the elasticity becomes restricted. It's mostly for close up vision. By the time my wife and I got into our fifties, we couldn't function without readers around the house everywhere. Our distance vision is almost the same prescription as it was thirty years ago but the elasticity we enjoyed for close-up has deteriorated. Don't blame Lasik on this one. It's a maturity thing that comes with all this experience we've had due to time. :D
Alrighty then it must be that I'm turning 44 soon LOL!! I appreciate the feedback I guess I'm asking for readers for my bday NOT
Had it done 6 years ago...I'm 45 now. Close up vision was stellar before the procedure. I could see a gnat's ass on my nose. Moved my focal point back about a foot immediately. Long distance was a huge improvement and overall still great. It's that close up shit that definitely is the downside. Still glad I had it done.
My wife had Lasik 11 years ago and she said it was the best thing she ever did besides marrying me..lol
She just turned 40 last month and has started wearing readers and looks great when she wears them.
