Very cool stuff in this thread.
sent from WMC's phone
As you probably already know I just happen to be there that day:biggrin: ....and I remember him saying something completely different right after the run! here's from Mary's website:
However, the highlight most remember was In 1975 when the most famous race car driver in the world literally put his life in the hands of a woman. At the Long Beach Marine Stadium, Mario Andretti climbed into a Jerry-rigged second seat in Mary's Blown Fuel Hydro and let the queen of boat racing take him for a 160+ MPH pass on the water. When it was all said and done a gracious Andretti thanked Mary and said he'd NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!
A Glastron was the boat to have back in the day at LOTO
Good one Joey. :)

Anybody else at LBMS the day Don Prudome took his one & only ride in a dragboat ?
I'm sure some of you remember this. I was pretty young, but I remember it. Hey Bob (GN-7), this one is addressed to Del St. John. :cool

Oh yeah, Don crashed Andre Maddox's Citation big time, and that's exactly what he said after words.

I was there that day with my Pop's, he was running his "Bunky" boat in the drags,............the story I heard went something like this :...........Don was getting some last minute "advice" on the ramp just as the crew was pushing him off the trailer, Prudhome asked "what do I do if it get's "squirley" ? somebody told him to "just stick your foot in it, it'll straighten itself out:  and THAT's exactly what he did ! the bow kept going up, up & up, he never did lift off the gas just kept it WOT till he went all the way over
