We get letters, #10:
"I recently saw a drive called the XPower Drive at the LA Boat Show. It said it can handle huge horsepower and is a direct replacement for a Bravo drive. It was installed on a Cat that had pretty big HP. What can you tell me about this drive?"
Another very good question. So good we had to go to the source for an answer as I know little to nothing about the XPower Drive. Here's what he said:
Q: Why would I choose a XPower Drive as opposed to IMCO or Merc NXT?
A: XPower warranties our drives up to 1600 hp and it is the fastest drive you can buy. I also guarantee that. It is a direct easy bolt on replacement for the bravo drive.
Q: Do you have a website or more info I can pass along?
A:
www.XPowerDrive.com
Q: What are some benefits to the XPower Drive vs the other options currently available?
A: By far the most high tech drive you can buy. 3 stage fully integrated dry sump system. Oil is in the built in oil tank. Carbon fiber covers. 1 month in a wind tunnel. Over a thousand pages of CFD modeling. Takes the least power to drive over any other drive. A number six takes over 100 horsepower to drive it 7000 rpm. A bravo takes 46 and the XPower Drive 11. It also has about a million other things. It's stronger then a number six which weighs 645 lbs and the X-Power only weighs 202lbs. We have sold over 32 of them and in the 5 years no customer has laid a dollar out in repair. It might be more expensive but in the long run it pays for itself over and over.
I realize this is a somewhat general response, if you have more specific questions it would probably be best to contact XPower directly.
Thank you for the question.
