I along with others received the message today while in a meeting 50 miles away from Long Beach. My phone was on vibrate (I always have it on vibrate) and it still sounded off. I personally don't like it and find it to be annoying and invasion into my personal life. I didn't request those elerts, so please don't send them to me.
If you have the iPhone and upgrade the operating system, make sure you reset it (turn it back off). Upgraded to 7.1 today and the alerts were turned backed on after the upgrade.
