This little guy fought a fierce battle with lymphoma. He actually went in to remission for quite a while last year. On Feb 14th the cancer came back, but this time it was viscous. We attempted another bout with chemo, but it had no effect on the cancer, this time.
This morning around 1am, my girlfriend called a home euthanasia doctor. So around 2am Biggy went home. No more pain, no more fighting, no more chemo, no more suffering.
When I was a kid we had several dogs. And again when I was older. But for the past 25-30yrs there were no dogs in my household. Until 2 1/2yrs ago when my gf brought Biggy home. Since then Biggy and I got to know eachother. We understood eachother. And we became good friends. Biggy loved the river and loved the pontoon boat. We were actually supposed to go out this weekend, but on Friday we decided not to go because Biggy's condition severely worsened.
I'm going to miss this little guy. He used to get excited to see me when I got home from my weekly Catalina trip. And I'm really going to miss how he used to sit on my foot.
I posted a note on FB and IG and I'm so grateful to all of my friends and family who offered their condolences, very much appreciated.
For now I keep looking down the hallway thinking he's going to come out from one of the rooms any minute. :(
RIP Biggy
