How do you store your ammunition? I picked up quite a bit lately before year end. Do you keep yours in the boxes or consolidated it into in ammo can? The can would save some space but so far I've just stacked in boxes.

I have about 20 ammo cans from the local BLACK GUN shop, including a .50 cal can (its huge) for powder storage...

If the seal is intact on the ammo can it should keep your stock in good shape because it doesn't allow for big swings in humidity, it keeps things more stabile, my 2 cents...

Some say you can smell when powder is going bad (old) but I'm not that skilled...

At any rate, I have some real old ammo that wasn't stored well at all and it still goes bang... I probably wouldn't try to shoot a match with t he stuff but my point is that even when NOT stored in sealed containers ammo stays viable for a LONG time...

P.S. primers are the hardest thing to find when the supply starts to dry up, next is powder... Get your primers by the brick (small rifle and large rifle covers a huge spectrum of calibers)....

I, um, I mean my friend, stores a fair amount in magazines. The rest resides in a sizable safe with a dehumidifier. Depending on where you are, you can store it on racks in the garage. The stuff is pretty tuff, at least the non-Cali rated stuff.
