What CCW gun???

Going to be applying for my CCW.
From what I hear, since I live in San Bernardino County, it should be fairly easy to get.

Any recommendations on a good CCW gun. I'm looking for something small/compact but still has a punch.
I kind of like the XD 40.

Any other ideas???

It is up to the County Sheriff.
Virtually impossible in LA county but hear its pretty easy in SB and Riverside county.
Luckily for me, I am just inside SB county my 1 city lol
