Let the Storm begin (pics here)

Hella wind and lightning storm on the way to Parker tonight. Picking up the boat in the am then off to Havasu for the weekend.

No Hotboat booth unfortunately this year due to the clamps being put down by the 5 orders of the monkeys plus the other monkey that's been on my back for awhile.

But I will be sure to snap as many pics as humanly possible with my rental camera and post up what's appropriate, or possibly what's not depending on how the weekend goes. So stay tuned.....

For those that don't know, this hull WAS the GN24 Body Snatcher before Ted/Joey built the current GN24... Current owner is a SUPER good guy...

Nice job on the pics. First off, you gotta keep an eye on that Toney guy. Pure trouble. Secondly, there's some serious hardware out there. I'm not sure if the boats are more impressive than the paint/gel schemes on some of those big ones. That's a crazy amount of real estate to color on. :schreck:

Agreed, I can't begin to wrap my brain around the colors/layers/layout on the GEL... I've watched how Billy does the layouts for his paint and the stages/steps for his graphics, I can't even visualize that, let alone these giant boats AND figuring it out in reverse, from the back/opposite side... :)

Some of the bigger ones, especially the East Coast ones, are painted. The outlandish gel schemes that John West and the Ultra guys upped the bar with, were amazing to watch. Other than a stripe here and there, many of the East Coast boat manufacturers would kick out white boats and color later, which is still a feat.

Yeah, it's a big MTI that was on a tilt trailer in some pics, possibly from the street fair. Apparently everybody got away safe. It was disturbing watching the experts on faceyspace talking about how a fire extinguisher should have been used and it would have made a difference and saved the boat.

Those experts have apparently never been around a boat when it lights off. The fire suppression system and extinguishers are to get people away safely before the boat burns to the waterline. :badidea:

Ok ton of pics from yesterday. We were anchored just off Black Meadow and I'm pretty sure I got everyone who ran. If you see a pic you want, let me know and I'll shoot it over to you. Please feel free to repost these, but please do not remove my watermark.

All in all a great weekend and a pretty big, if not the biggest, turnout for Desert Storm. Hats off to DCB for probably the most boats entered in to the regatta. And some serious hardware was on display at the street fair Thursday. Mouth watering beautiful machines.
