Fortunately we were able to get out. Just guessing we were 30-50 cars back from car #1. Some guy comes over and says "hey we're gonna try and get outta here, wanna come?" Hell yeah.

The fire jumped the 15S and was lighting up the transmission towers. Yeah, let's not wait to get roasted.

So there was a small access road that dropped us on to the 15N. We got out about two hours ago. Doesn't look like we'll be home any time soon but at least we're okay..

Scary.

Just got home. 7 1/2hrs. It's a mess. I feel bad for those who got stuck and the big rigs, they couldn't turn around.

Snapped a few pics before we hauled ass outta there. Just watched a little news now, so sad for those who couldn't get out. We were in that position because I was in the fast lane, so we were boxed in until a couple cars to the right were able to pull out. We got lucky for sure.

saw it on tv i would be surprised if 15 gets opened for several days. i hope i'm wrong but it looks like some of the big rigs that were on fire had to severely damage the black top/ hope everyone is ok
