One of the few things left that is 100% American made. Power isn't loaded in to containers and shipped here from some other country. Power is generated here and used instantly. Kind of a shame the machines used to generate power are now mostly foreign made. Back in the day it was almost exclusively Westinghouse and General Electric.

What a mess we've gotten ourselves in to.

Mostly Siemens, Alstom and GE. But GE isn't made here anymore for the most part.

I would assume that Siemens is now in the same boat as GE where they have products being made in Croatia, Poland, Austria, Maylasia (jobbed out for lower labor costs)...???..

A buddy of mine had a really good business going here in MO, doing board repair work for some Siemens motor driver cards of some sort... It was enough work to keep 6-10 folks busy DEsoldering/repairing boards year round... It was kind of funny because he knew NOTHING about electronics or repairs, he just fell into the deal and ran with it, small rented space with work benches/solder stations... I guess it was all in the name of lowering labor/handling costs for Siemens...
