I love this place, my home away from home.

I'm a very patient person and I love boating and I love proving people wrong. That's either a recipient for success or disaster LOL

The more we offer valid input and worthwhile information, the better chance the membership and activity will increase and sponsorship will be easier to land. I, for one, would like to thank you for this venue and I'll thank all the members I've had the pleasure to interface with regularly here.

Congrats on the new sponsorship and I'll look forward to years more here.

After we get all our house stuff squared away, we're going to come out West, don't know when yet, but Parker and few of the other places look like we need to check out.

I've got some big news about our house find at LOTO, not ready yet to spill the beans, but soon, I hope we get to tip a beers this Summer at the Shootout.

Congrats on the Godaddy help, we use them, good company.

When you come to Parker I have you covered. You'll love it. Like a mini, er, micro Florida trip. Different flavor, different boats, and lots of heat if you come in the summer.

I got a taste of LOTO a couple years ago, now I need my fix :D

Thank you sir. Bit of a relief. When I bought this place four or so years ago, I honestly had no idea what I was gonna do with it. And I certainly had no idea of the costs associated with keeping the doors open. So I'm glad I got this worked out with GoDaddy, I was a little worried. Just a wee bit :D

I'm not savy to a lot of this web stuff(forum servers, etc.) but I've been using them for my websites since I started one way back in the 1900's :D

That is where the 99 comes from in my name, from the olden days. When I set up my first personal email address, RogerThat was taken. It was 1999, so I did RogerThat99. Bingo.

Hmm, checking them out right now, thanks.

From what I'm finding, it's pretty tough to beat GD right now. That deal they have for $1 a mnonth is the real deal...email, hosting and domain name, plus the website builder for $12 year. I signed up and had a kick ass looking website in about 20 minutes. But, that does not include cPanel, they host it on their own server space that you don't have access to (but, they are responsible for security).

So I moved on to Network Solutions for $2.95. MISTAKE MISTAKE MISTAKE. The interface is so freaking cluncky with advertisements all over. To top it off, they billed me for $23.95, I thought it was for the YEAR. Nope, the 2.95 was only for the first month, read the fine print. I flipped my lid on the poor Indian named Amy.

GoDaddy (I even signed up as a reseller, but have not pursued it) offers a lot, but the email is a deal killer for me.

So my search continues....

They send me specials all the time I can share. I just did my recent website with domain registration and a shit ton of emails and space for $2.95 a month. Probably why we used Ipower to begin with because of the large email storage. We were having to zip and send large FTP files. I don't have that same need any longer but their service has been great so I stuck with them.

Waiting for a chat rep now, I don't think they have cPanel for that great proce, will let you know an dthanks for the kind offer. :)

Lol...

The deal is, Network Solututions partnered with the government as the original name registrar.

Now, they are shiat, they were bought out by Web.com. I was floored when I saw their control interface, even some of the free hosting sites that house all the malware and porn look more professional.

I also told Amy the Indian that I would bad mouth them every chance I got. When I mentioned the Florida Attorney General and a bait-and-switch scam, she immediately refunded my money.

Now I have 1471.25 in Rupee.

Yeah, showed her :D

We've used "BlueHost" for all our domain hosting, registration, renewal, etc. for years and they have been great. Customer service is right in Salt Lake City by someone who actually works with them.

Signed up for another account with HostGator. I've used them before, pretty decent deal. The only deal killer with GD is you need to buy separate email accounts, as opposed to the unlimited accounts given by other providers.

HG uses Weebly and you can build a great looking site in minutes. Still waiting to see if they host it on a separate server, or of you have access to it via cPanel. I imagine they host it separately too if built using a website builder.

These website builders are great. No more learning html, css, Java, just cut and paste. And, the framework behind the scene (all the code) is structurally correct so you don't have to worry about coding errors, or Google skipping over yuour site due to coding errors. They also, in a roundabout way, are saying it's our code, and it's secure. So no worrying about sql injection attacks, ddos attacks etc. All the SEO meta/tags are formatted, again, just put in your keywords or description of your business and you're off and running. That's nice because trying to make sense of Analytics and Ad Sense is.....yeah.

In the near future, I imagine a lot of website developers are gonna feel the pinch as more people build their own sites.

Such is the Internet. Adapt, or die :swear
