Redondo Beach, CA October 2014- For the 68th time, The Southern California Speedboat Club Sprint Boats have been roaring to life around an 1 ¼ mile oval course laid out on Lake Moovalya in Parker, AZ. Once again, the Southern California Speedboat Club (SCSC) is staging their 67th annual Thanksgiving Regatta at the beautiful Blue Water Resort & Casino. The race will feature 16 classes of the fastest sprint boats, both Inboard and Outboard in the nation.

The 2015 APBA (American Powerboat Racing Association) season get’s underway with the very first race of the 2015 season at the Blue Water Resort & Casino. Classes set to race for the historic event are: Round 1 for the K Racing Runabouts, Grand National Racing Association Series, Super Stocks, Pro Stocks, Crackerboxes, Comp Jet class, Classic Outboard Runabouts and the limited Stock Outboard Hydroplane classes.

The 68th Annual Thanksgiving Regatta starts on Friday November 28, 2014 at the Bluewater Resort & Casino beach. Racing begins at 9:00 a.m. and should last until approximately 4:30 each day. Saturday night SCSC will be hosting the 2014 Annuual Year End Awards celebration inside the Casino. So come out and celebrate 68 great years of Thanksgiving weekend racing on the Colorado River!

Admission to the races is free. Please park in the Casino Parking lot and come on down to the beach area to take in all the excitement that Sprint Boat Racing has to offer!

Racer Check In/Late Registration (on-site): Thursday in Jeannie Doidge's Room Patio (tba) 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (at Jeannie's discretion) A $25/class/day late fee. Late fee will not be waived for out-of-region owners/drivers.

Friday/Saturday Race Day(s) Check in/late registration- River's Edge Cantina Patio Area (Judges Stand) to Add or Scratch classes. A $25/class/day late fee will be charged on all entries received after Tuesday November 26th.

Camping (Pit Area) - Self Contained: 1st Come, 1st serve in the pits BEHIND THE AMPITHEATER! ABSOLUTELY NO Motorhomes/RV's on the beach side. Must not block race teams/trailer(s).
Capsule Training: Will be held on Friday, November 28th at 6:00 a.m. at the lower pool inside the resort. Please don't be late.
Driver's meeting: Will be held at 8:00 a.m both days- Friday/Saturday at the Patio area of the Cantina.
Awards: Please come to the 2014 Year End awards and Thanksgiving Regatta Awards ceremony on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. inside the resort (room TBA).

A great weekend was had by all that attended whether they raced, crewed or spectated. The Blue Water Resort & Casino 68th Annual Thanksgiving Regatta presented by HOTBOAT.com went off in grand fashion with close to 90 teams participating at one of the nicest venues in the West! Mother nature provided the back drop and kept the weather conditions near perfect to help produce some of the best sprint boat racing in recent memory. The 2015 American Power Boat Racing Association season is officially off and running and by the looks of it 2015 is going to be a great year with some of the best racers battling it out.
