I bought a computer today with Windows 8 loaded on it and needless to say it will probably be going back to the store tomorrow.

It seems they are trying to rip off the Mac and kind of missed the mark. If I had a windows based phone it might be different as they want you to link them all together but I have an iPhone.

Does anyone else have this operating system and what are your thoughts about it.

I'm tired of computers in general. Hate the newest MS Office.

Win 8 is based on touch screen so not the greatest on regular PC's, hate store bought crap with all the garbage that come with them, I build my own the way "I" want it and so far Win7 "Pro" seems to be real stable..

Stick with Win 7. Don't go mac unless you need the animation/photo capabilities of a mac. Otherwise, just a waste of money.

How do I know? Wife had to have a macbook pro. $2400 later and all she still does is use it for internet and email. Oh yeah she had to have the i-pad2.

If you're not "bilingual" in terms of using both PCs and Macs you should be. The PC is fading while Macs continue to rise in popularity (helped by iPads, iPhones, iPods, etc.).

Get to know them both and you'll be better off. And buying into a Mac doesn't have to be expensive - you can pick up used Macs (iMac desktops and MacBooks/MacBook Pro, etc.) pretty inexpensively as the iGeeks all upgrade as soon as new gear comes out. Their loss can be your gain.

I have an iPhone and this point I'm not sure if I want to step up and buy a Mac or try and learn Windows 8. Decisions......

I'll probably pick up a new laptop soon. And I'll learn Windows 8 and move on. Good for the resume and change is inevitable.

I work on both Mac and PC's, so I have to know both. I had a droid incredible when they came out and loved it. When it died my wife used my upgrade for the iphone 4s and I got her iphone 4. To me the phone is just ok. I personally liked the droid better and will go get a galaxy 3 when I have an upgrade available.
