Just keep going to the build partys, you save a shit pile of money in the end. And have alot more of those paper weights.

I heard through the grape vine that the feds shut down a build party up north and confiscated all the machinery/lowers and peeps were charged with mfg without a license...???

Seems their excuse was that you had to actually KNOW how to do the work and not just push a button... At least that is the way I heard it...

All together. I like it. Had to do a little gun smithing to get the safety to work right. It's a little goofy on this lower. I think they drilled the spring detent hole at the wrong angle. Got it to work fine now though. I'll put the scope on it in a little bit.

you need a license to produce firearms, that way they can be serial numbered and not in the wrong hands .

No, I didn't shoot it off the back porch of someone's house ;) I was looking to see how well the scope worked. I could practically see Havasu with it. But, if I'm ever that crazy, I'll make sure someone takes a pic ;)

Happened down here at a place in OC. They made it too easy I guess. Preprogrammed cnc machines. All would have to do is clamp it in and press start. You could do 2 lowers in 15 minutes in there.

You do not need a license to manufacture firearms for your own use. You can never sell it or give it away. But you can make it for yourself.

The eye relief of the scope keeps your eye OFF of the scope, that is to say - not against the scope or your scope position/stock position is set up wrong... You should WIKI scope eye relief... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_relief

I will wager that due to the weight and the buffer system DJ's AR10 is ten times smoother to shoot than my 742 remington in the same caliber...

P.S. we DO have the right to build guns, but for our own personal use and they must meet certain ATF/federal standards...

Hey alright it works. Gun ran flawlessly. Only put around 50 rounds through it though. Just too hot out. Was grouping around 1" at 100 yards shooting from a bipod. Should be better off a bench. Only got a couple pics when my buddy took a whirl with it. Recoil isn't too bad. I thought it would be a little worse being its so light.

Did you have fun shooting it? What did you shoot at? How far away were the targets?

Yes we are both hair challenged. I loved the gun. Wish I could have spent a little more time with it but it was just too fucking hot out and I was burning up in that valley. We were shooting at a board about 100 yards out that had some targets on it.

My poor buddy shooting the gun

Sounds like a good conversation:

Dave: You know that boating forum I've told you about.

Buddy: Yeah?

Dave: Well I posted a couple pics of you shooting the AR last weekend.

Buddy: No big deal.

Dave: Well now the pics has been changed where you seem to be getting dry humped by a wild pig while aiming the gun at a guy in a red, white and blue speedo who is deep throating a dildo.

Buddy: ????

I'm not sure of all the differences. But the biggest difference that I know of is the grip on the gen 4 is smaller. And it comes with different attachments to customize it to each shooters hand size. Also the slide spring seems lighter. It was way easier to pull back the slide on the gen4 I bought compared to the gen 3 version. Supposedly the gen 4 has a lighter recoil. I'm not really sure as I haven't shot a gen 3 in a long time.

👍 now I remember it's the recoil and slide spring that were the main factors.
