If you haven't seen it, it's quite impressive! The Glory Hole is a spillway in Lake Berryessa that is 72' in diameter, drops 200' and shrinks down to 28' and spills the water into Putah Creek. It used to scare the shit out me when I was a kid when we would boat on Berryessa. I guess in 1997 it sucked a chick up. :yikes: The pictures don't really do it justice. I'm sure Napanutt can tell you all about it.

Its actually the Monticello Dam Glory hole and it was a typical design of dam building back in the 50's and 60's Lake Berryessa and Whiskeytown lake share the GLORY HOLE overfill design. Monticello was constructed in 1953 and Whiskeytown in 1960.

Swimming by the Damn at Mojave freaks me out. In the back of my mind, Im always thinking what if it sucks me down lol
