Best place to lake boat and did I mention it is huuuge...100 miles end to end.

On behalf of Missouri and it's citizens I say thank you sir... Coming from you AND the many places you have hauled ass on the lakes/rivers/deltas/ocean, that means something...

I was just talking to Kap about Tickfaw, LOTO and some other runs this year. Of all the events on the horizon, LOTO stands out the most to me. We had an absolute blast last year. Best event I think we've ever attended from start to finish.

I'm already working on this year. Hopefully we can have more of a presence there and help to promote it a little more, not that it needs it.

And the people? Friendliest people we've ever met, hands down.

If you're on the fence about attending, get off it and go. You'll thank me later :D

Don't believe me, but believe the man "hotboat" himself, I've been to almost every boating event in the US and LOTO and the Shootout is the best, have fun.

But get there Wednesday morning at the latest. that's when all the fun starts.

It is all true! We are planning a trip again this year.

The only thing is... we would not be doing the Shootout. The goal would be to run the lake and just have a great time and hang out with all my Mid-West boaters.

I know a lot of boating people that never venture out of their familiar surroundings...too bad. We have not even hit up Table Rock and Grand Lake of the Cherokees [which is also huge but not well known].

Party cove is not happening on Shootout weekend at least it hasn't since I have been attending. Memorial, July 4th and Labor Day it is the place to be.

Mr. & Mrs. Hotboat really got the bug when they came out last year. They did not even attend all the parties... Dog Days on Friday night was popping as usual crazy stuff. One big problem for Mr. & Mrs. Hotboat is they don't have their own boat if they did it would be a whole different story. I know business first :).

LOTO is hard to beat for kick ass boating...venues, restaurants, bars, scenic, and people are just down right genuine friendly when you come from Kalifornia that's strange...lol.

Seems that part of the original 24 units which are privately owned (or at least some of them) can be purchased... I just got off the phone with a realtor that has been selling them for the banks that have them in forclosure... Bank owned units where folks were >>> :drown:

My guess, 3 hours... From my house (outside of St Louis) I can be at the dam or on the strip in about 2 depending on who is riding with me... :)
