I actually get a little bummed when the official first day of summer hits because I know the days start getting shorter after that. It felt like summer here today...mid 70's....I was headed to the lake....and well, we all know how that turned out.

What the Southwest doesn't have any bugs, seems like when we came to Havasu a few years ago there were bugs everywhere....................I guess there gone now.

http://bugguide.net/node/view/12904Truth be told we almost never see bugs out here when the humidity falls below 15%.........which is about 10 months out of the year.........one of the hidden secrets of the desert :D

You mean flying bugs right? Because there are those ones like tarantulas and scorpions on the ground. :yikes:

Some scorpions but not too many.....not too many at all for sure. I've never seen a tarantula once in the desert........otherwise I probably wouldn't be living in the desert :D

They have bugs the size of my fist in Havasu between April and early June...but it makes for great drunk entertainment watching the giant bug zapper.
Paul65k probably has a no bug halo around him which keeps the bugs away. ;)
