About to purchase the boat with the 502 engine. Does anyone have issues with this motor? What kind of speeds have you seen with 8 people on board?

Welcome Mike, WMC has a Magic with 496, maybe he will see your question.

Can't help you with speed numbers but I can tell you the 502 is a great motor. Reliability of the 496 but slightly more useable power and all traditional bbc. Much easier to modify down the road if you choose to.

270 had a Conquest, although not the deckboat but same hull. His may have had the 525. That was a sick boat. Many people chime in during the week more when at work. :D

My 24 DCB had a 502. Put over 500 hours on it from brand new without one single issue. Great motor for sure.

I've ridden in a couple conquests. The ones I was in were solid boats and rode very well. What year is it?

Can you post up a picture of the boat?? I had a Daytona long ago with a 502 in it, great motor, lots of fun...never an issue with it....

I was thinking about the new 502 8.2L. Not sure if that is what you are looking at or the older 502 mag mpi. Either way they are both good motors in their own right.
