From what I understand, Teaque is doing some work with Bennington. That could be interesting. Don't know any numbers on the engine.

At what point do they stop being potoons and become DCBs???

I have always sort of chuckled at Playcraft, zillion dollar fiberglass hulls topped with plywood. That's hi tech. :smackhead

Grads, your the expert in this field. You SURE that's a toon, and not a SPORT DECK????

Yep. They are putting a Teague 825 (all blacked out) in a Bennington.

I was kinda figured it would be the 825 but didn't know for sure. Thanks. Looking forward to see it run.

They still make aluminum TOONS. The glass ones are "sport decks"
Kind of like a, a, uhhhhh............................................ .................................... a Daytona with the lid ripped off.

So in a sense Vic, you have 2 "toons" One is a little more techy than the other.

If I had "throw away" money... I'd get me a 100 mph toon, call up the Farm truck and azn dudes and take them fishing on Havasu. :)

No way I'd want a 100MPH toon around these parts. I've seen a regular toon heading up river at about 30 and one of those stupid carp jump over the rail and nail a passenger. I imagine it was a rude awakening at 30, could you imagine getting hit by one of those things at 100?

I think you have to pull the motor to change plugs. Seriously though. What is the point of this boat. To expensive to be a fun party boat and will never handle as good as a real tunnel boat.

There's much fun to be had in a sleeper. People spend gobs of cash on fun party boats so what's the difference...?

Menace Marine

I agree a sleeper is fun. And I'm all for throwing big power at odd boats. I just don't see it with this boat. But hey if you have the money be my guest.

The black and red combo is very nice, I don't know if I'd feel comfortable in a pontoon at high speed.

Doesn't look like the side panels are permanently attached around the engine. Remove them and you'll have more room than any other for servicing.

What's wrong with a pontoon at high speed? Is'nt that the same thing as a cat style boat?:stir:

Different kind of air. Cats ride on "magical" air.

I saw a toon with rectangle shaped pontoons, flat on the bottom. With enough power why could'nt it get on plane and ride the magical air?

A brick with enough power will fly.

The biggest difference between a toon and cat is the gel coat.

I love all boats, even those little cute ones with no freeboard :D

Pontoons too.

Would love a nice center console fishing boat someday. And a bad ass flat trailer queen to sit in the garage next to my Chevelle.

I don't hate any particular type of boat. They all have their purposes.

I'm not a big jet ski fan though, even though we own one. I think :D

Before Tom Gentry was severely injured and (much) later died, they outfitted and rigged those things in his shop a 1/2 block down from ours.
Same place they evolved the Gentry Turbo from the Race Aero Turbo setup. Lot of HP rolled out of that place.
