Touted as a test of the new Democratic supermajority in Sacramento, South Bay state Sen. Ted Lieu plans to introduce a measure to triple vehicle license fees.

The constitutional amendment would restore the 2 percent vehicle license fee slashed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger after he won office partly on that pledge.

The 1.35 percent transportation system user fee increase would generate an estimated $3.5 billion to $4 billion annually for roads and public transit in yet-to-be-decided proportions, Lieu said.

Buoyed by the Democratic supermajority achieved just last week, Lieu, D-Redondo Beach, plans to introduce the legislation in either December or January. He envisions the Legislature will approve the amendment and place it before voters in November 2014.

"It would be a test to see what the two-thirds (majority) Legislature means," Lieu told the editorial board of the Los Angeles News Group.

I'm not sure I like Grads, but I certainly don't know him well enough to call him names. If you do, please text him your feelings. I don't want to hear it on here.

Thanks.

Aside from the name calling, I'm still not sure how the fuck a political section benefits a boating website. I certainly would never think of going to www.mcdonalds.com to learn about nutrition.

Why would anyone come to www.hotboat.com to learn about how California is overtaxing its residents??

Here's your opportunity MMD to convince me.

I've also noticed that 90% of the people who post in the PRF of other forums are not even boaters.

No matter what the subject if something breaks big in the News it can make interesting posts. As far as a political section, mostly worthless and history repeating itself.Go with your instincts Vic.

The Political Sections keeps all the inevitable political talk from stinking up the rest of the site!! That's how it benefits a boating website.

I don't need to convince you. You need to figure this out for yourself. Here are some things you could consider:

* Is your site focused exclusively on boating and nothing else? If so, then you'll want to tell everyone they need to post topics in the Sandbar that are only about boating.
* Is your site is organized where the Sandbar is the forum all kinds of subjects are discussed?
* Do you want the Sandbar to be the forum for most every subject EXCEPT politics?
* If your site is one that welcomes people who are into the river, lakes, offshore and boating on them and you want people to come together and get to know each other better then topics other than boating will be discussed unless you don't want/allow that.
* If your site is a forum for people into boating are welcomed then you should expect all kinds of subjects to be brought up and discussed (just look at the boating sites you used to (or still) go to and you'll see that). If you want this site to not involve non-boating topics then say it.

I've also noticed that 90% of the people who post in the PRF of other forums are not even boaters.

If the site owners only want boat owners to participate in the website then they should say that. It's exhausting and inconsiderate when boat owners start talking shit about non-boat owners. Plenty of people into boating own boats, used to own boats, own lake lice, want to own boats, etc. If you want the site to be only for boat owners just say so. Otherwise I suggest this anti-non-boat owner shit be frowned upon.

Sorry... I don't have that DB's number to text him as he has stalked me under numerous names... It is just natural to time DB before his name after all of the time he has spent proving how much of a DB he really is under a plethora of fake names... I do have him on ignore, along with a few other prominant DB's, so there isn't any chance of an exchange.... his desire to be a moderator on any board for the 24 seconds before he is banned for being a DB is well documented.

p.s. www.hotboat.com (http://www.hotboat.com) :D :D :D <--- not my domain even though I was blamed for it for years. The truth will set you free. :D

So rather than leave people wondering, here's what happened:

Jordy was banned. Why? because I have a very low tolerance for trashing other people in a public place. Personally I prefer to trash people in private. The situation usually resolves itself on the spot.

MMD was temporary banned because he just doesn't get it. Politics and bedroom fantasies should be private discussions. Now if this was www.hotpolitics.com (http://www.hotpolitics.com) I would certainly welcome all his political BS. But it isn't. So until we're so desperate that we would allow a few members to trash the place up with politics, I would prefer to keep it politically minimal.

I think I've said this before, but maybe its worth repeating. I/we sincerely want this place to be positive place where people can come and enjoy what we enjoy the most...BOATING or almost anything that involves rotating machinery, metal, internal combustion, and the sweet smell of burnt avgas. Sure you can't discuss boating every minute of every day (sorry to the hardcores) but I do not want this place to become a haven for trash talking and garbage. There are plently of other sites that allow this.

This isn't the old hotboat.

Thank you,
HB
