So I've been thinking about selling or trading my Magic deck boat for a nice tritoon Southbay or Bennington with a big ass outboard engine. My family said not yet we're to young I said it has nothing to do with age. I think I would have a better time on a tritoon ie. no more anchoring, alot easer to wipe down the boat, now I could bbq on the boat.
So what can a Magic deck boat do that a new bad ass tritoon can't?
Would you if it was your choice?

Sounds like you need better/more friends on your boat. Get them to wipe it down and set up the BBQ on the beach :D

Tough call I have owned a bad ass pontoon and we had a shit load of fun with it. I would not replace my boat with a toon but I can see one in the future for taking people out etc. Ours had a big Merc rode nice was quiet but offered no protection from the elements.I have also been looking at outboatds as a second boat time will tell.If you get a high dollar toon they are hard to clean also ,lots of ins and outs places for dirt and water spots it was a job.

Many reason to say yes, but just as many to say no............I'd list what is most important down to least important, then discuss(as in debate) with family about it in detail. Everyones pro/cons included.
Good luck, I see the boss has voted :D:D

If I had a place on the river and my wife was cool with it Iā€™d be all over it.

Maybe pick up a cheap 18ā€™ ā€“ 21ā€™ for a little hot rod.

Actually I'd probably do it even if my wife wasn't cool with it......:D

I liked the Schiada alot...The gas no... $200 a day not for my wife. In the Magic, fill it up can go two trips. it's like a hybrid

Really even if it had a Big OB 350 on the back... 55mph

Vic's toon is a lot of fun. Not sure I want one, but not sure I don't either.

Toons suck when they only go 15mph set on kill. 55 is badass. They aren't fuel efficient like the Magic though.

I would ditch my sleek and the small tooner for a 26' tri with a 350 in 5 seconds flat.....

Simple is good.....Honestly parker kind of sucks for a 28' boat anyways as your dam to dam in minutes.

toon and a 21' go fast boat would be the perfect combo

Really. Luxury toons are like illegals....you think they're really useful and can take a beating till you own one.

I'd roll a toon in a heartbeat. But I'd still have to have my lil' 21 for fun.

New Guy here. We got rid of our small deck boat last spring and got a Southbay Tritoon with a 150 whacker and we are happy as hell! The only con is the top end, all the rest are pro's, ours will top out at 40 mph. Not a big deal for us we are not in any hurry these days. Our friends have the fast high performance boats, we end up riding in their boats and they all ride on our Toon and they love it!! Best move we ever made! We have put on 120 hours since last May, can't get enough!

We just picked up a Tooner also, it's a project hope to have it on the water by spring, this is a first hope we'll like it...

Ive kicked this idea around for about 2 years as well. I just dont see myself in a pontoon. I like the idea of it being a bit easier, but in the long run I dont think it is. I dont have carpet, i hose my deck off. Thats easier. The toon still need to be clean, you cant by a bennington and not take care of it. I really dont believe its easier, if you buy a piece of crap toon then maybe, but im not a "buying a piece of crap" guy. So for us, we are staying with the Magic, or getting another deck. Im VERY interested to see the Nordic 26 deck soon.

It's alot easier to take of a Toon even with carpet,, SouthBay will do it without carpet also. Bennington has had the name for being the best in the industry but they have alot of company now, many other Toon manufactures are as every bit as good as a Bennington these days. But to each their own,,,,,,,,,, what counts is that you are Happy, Happy, Happy!!

Your right there not that easy if you want to keep it pristine I had to use a step ladder to clean the side rails and water and hot metal make for a huge mess. When the wind is blowing and the water is rough cleanup is a bitch.
