It's that time again, I myself keep my money during the year and try to break even in the end. I don't like having to fight the government for my hard earned money. A lot of people like a fat ass return. how do you play it ?

Always get money back...some years more than others. I know its stupid because the government is making money off of my money but I never want a big fat bill at the end of the year.

I have never had to pay.
With the biz losses I had from 2010-2012 my tax guys told me they have enough to deduct for at least 10 years, by then I can collect Social Security, if there's any left :D

Yep me too, my business losses got me back over 100K between 2009-2011. Usually you can only collect for 3 years, you might want to check.

They are able to 'carry forward' the losses each year and deduct a portion. They explained it back then, can't recall details. May have to do with amortized something or others:biggrin:
