Today, I only learned how to stay on the board while riding a surf. I didn't actually stand up. Oh and I perfected my underwater wave tumble :D

I'm not THAT crazy...I was wearing a wetsuit. I was a drunk seal trying to put it on, fell over and even put it on backwards. thankfully, there are no pictures of that.

I was surprised that it wasn't cold at all with the wetsuit on. I have a wetsuit selfie I may post in the wee hours of the night lol

Sent from my Bat CaveSurfing is much more stable than wakeboarding do to the size of the boards and fins, you can also do alot more tricks on a wakeboard. The surfboard that I'm using in the video is a 5'9" quad fin, behind the boat it works great but It's too small for me if I were to surf with it in the ocean.

Here are a few pics from Saturday (surfing with Eli and Stryderphoto aka Scott) and a few from my adventures on Sunday. I have ALWAYS wanted to shoot from the water and get some cool barrel shots, and "Wise Ass" once told me "to get barrel shots you first have to get into the barrel", well I did and this would explain why I am soooooo sore today. Feels like I was beat with a few baseball bats, hit by cay, kicked by a horse an then rolled down a rocky hill. Ahhh, but it's a good pain and ready to do it again! I thought surfing was a work out, but swimming and treading water with no float for a couple hours wiped me out!! Let me know what ya think of the pics. Still have a few really nice full on in the barrel photos, but wanted to save those for last.

I wakeboard/snowboard with my left foot forward... I dont know if the same holds true for surfing or not BUT the way that you find out your natural "lead foot" for this stuff, so I am told, is as follows... Lets say you have on socks and your on a slick floor and take off running AND then your going to slide. Which foot would you place forward when you go to slide on a slick floor??? That is how I was told that you can find out your lead foot for snowboard/wakeboard/skateboarding...

I think they can now tell how I feel when I come out of a wave. If I shoot up head back...I'm good...if I come up face down I had a rough ride.

To stay in shape and still be able to ride a shortboard over shallow coral and/or in good waves here takes commitment and almost comes with a burden to me at this point because it's use it or lose it. Central Coast- colder and way less good spots than SD but lots of swell and way less crowded. Not the best learning environment but fun if you live close enough to keep an eye on it every day
