They had the bat boats out here for a while and I want to say they were putting some pretty big (a relative term here) power in them... something like 550HP Ilmors with Volvo drives behind them. It was kind of an odd combination. Had them out at Firebird Raceway a few times running as well. Looks like a wild ride for sure! :D

these are running 5.7 v8 volvo penta engines giving out about 350-400hp. making them do 70-80 mph through 5-6 ft waves making big air :)

I remembered the Volvo part of it... will have to look at my pics and see if I can find the one they shoe horned a big mill into as it was kind of a wild combination. Thanks for the response and welcome to Hotboat! :D

it was a long time before i started racing. it very well might have been. i know it was avery big series with many boats competing. we have a european championship over in the uk in the summer with boats from sweden and norway coming over to race so that should be really good :)

Can't wait for summer to be here, and there! :D What part of the U.K exactly do they hold the races? Need to plan a trip over there!

Hey guys, it's me and my bro running on the YT clips.
I don't know how familiar you are with the V-24 boats. Anyway their where designed by the Swedish designer Ocke Mannerfeldt. This is a one-design class, witch basically means that we all run the same stuff.
We are not allowed to make any changes to the hull, engine or drive. Propellers are free to modify but must be of Volvo Penta E2 kind. This makes the racing pretty damn exciting.
They are not that fast, but they run really good in the rough.
This is a movie from when we gave our sponsors a ride.
http://tweet.eu.org/~peppe/VIDEOBLOGG_2012/VB_16.wmv
Anyway, our Team is based in the North of Sweden and have 4 boats.
2x V-24 (me and my bro now have each one) - 77mph
1x B-23 (se pic) - 84+mph
1x Custom Magnum 27 Sport - "Arrow 830" - 92-93 mph
Here are some pics, mostly of the V-24's but also the rest of the lineup.

Awesome pictures!!! Id imagine the pics.dont do justice to what it's like in person, but isnt that usually the case. How long are these races typically?
Point to point or laps?
Sam R

Wendi: Yes i am, i founded Team Johansson 2007 when i started driving the B-23 in the Swedish series. :)
Gothalos: Well, just send a few stickers and we will try to make room. If any one has a sharp eye you should se a falimiar sticker on atleast my boat Red/White/Blue. Miss Geico stickers, Scott gave em to us when we visited their shop last year.
hallett21: Im not sure what they would cost today, but make contact with the CEO at:
http://www.v24powerboats.com/contact
This is a cool vid with my boat, previous owner in England racing it here:
