I'm gonna get one today, I just want to check to see if there is any reason not to get the white Hero 3. I don't want all the features, just a flat out simple one. Will this one do me right, and does it have the steady cam for when I'm on the boat ?

I'm watching Jerry's video link...

Get the one with the WIFI/Iphone feature built in... It will greatly expand your capability with the remote control/remote display IMHO...

My son just lost his out in Mass., came off the car he was in, in the snow... :(

The wide angle lens of the gopro is what makes it look stable especially in 960 mode. Don't get the white one.

When you say TIME LAPSE you dont mean SLOW MOTION do you???

My son said that the frame rate depending on the SLOW MOTION needs is a factor...

Bruce...A guy at work has the black, and he said he does time lapse at the beach to catch the clouds and the sunset. He said it was just like a camera snapping photos depending on the setting he choses, then he can watch it like a video.

The silver does that as well. Difference between silver and black. Black comes with remote and can record in 4k. You can add the remote to the silver.

I got the white for Christmas and it does works with the iPhone wifi app and has time lapse. I think the biggest difference is the still photo resolution is quite better with the silver and black.

I just got the silver for the boat.. I did the silver because of the mp resolution is much higher and I'm not sure that the white is waterproof.

If you want to do SLOW MO of any quality at all you will need the model that allows 60 frames / sec or higher... 60 would be the minimum frame rate for half way decent slow mo in the recording quality you plan to record in...

Jerry, keep me honest on that... ^^^

My son said that the model he just lost, there was a firmware/code issue with the INability of shutting down/disconnecting the WIFI connection... SHould be resolved by now...

Here is the link to the camera. It looks pretty cool. I like it that you don't need a case to make it water proof.

Thinking of pulling the trigger in a Hero 3+ black today.
Is there any reason for me to not get it?

Looks like QVC got a deal that comes with mounts and other crap.

Not really unless you plan on digging deep into editing photos or graphics. iMovie will work fine for putting together videos, that's what I've used for a majority of the videos I've made. You can also download an app, can't remember the name right now, to edit photos further in iPhoto.
